This enables Nicola to identify what’s working, what aspects of training or behaviour needs attention, allowing her to adjust the training to suit your dog’s ability, and your own training goals.
For many dogs, especially those that are easily distracted, excitable, or lacking confidence, a quieter one-to-one environment allows them to learn more effectively without the pressure of a group setting.
It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions, build your handling skills, and gain the confidence to continue training on your own.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or working through specific challenges, 1-to-1 sessions provide a clear, structured path forward—helping you make faster progress and build a stronger partnership with your dog.
Group Training Sessions
Group sessions are a great way to build dog’s training around real-life distractions while working alongside other like-minded owners.
Training in a group environment helps your dog learn to stay calm, focused, and responsive when there are other dogs, people, and activity around. This is especially important for gundogs, who need to be steady and under control in more challenging environments.
Sessions are structured, supportive, and suitable for different levels, allowing both you and your dog to progress at a consistent pace.
Group training helps with:
- Improving focus around distractions
- Building steadiness and patience
- Developing social skills with other dogs
- Practising real-world obedience
- Progressing gundog skills in a controlled setting
As well as the training itself, group sessions are a great opportunity to learn from others, gain confidence, and enjoy working your dog in a positive, encouraging environment.
Gundog training courses are suitable for dogs 6 months and over.
Beginners to Advanced courses are 8 x 1.5-hour sessions run fortnightly, which includes an optional assessment at the end of each course.
Obedience and puppy classes are also available.

Home Visits
Some of the most important training happens at home—where your dog is most comfortable and where every day behaviours really matter.
Nicola offers home visits to help you work through issues in your dog’s natural environment. This allows her to see how your dog is behaving in their home environment, see what’s going on and give practical, tailored advice that fits your routine and lifestyle.
Many common challenges—such as jumping up, barking, poor recall, or lack of boundaries—start in the home. By training where these behaviours start, we can address them more effectively and create lasting results.
Home visits are ideal if you:
- Have a young puppy and want to get things right from the start
- Are struggling with behaviour at home or on local walks
- Want help setting clear boundaries and routines
- Prefer a more private, relaxed training environment
These sessions are fully personalised, giving you the time, support, and confidence to handle your dog calmly and consistently day-to-day.
